Panavision 3D System

The Panavision 3D System is a technology being brought to market by DPVO Theatrical LLC, a joint venture between Panavision (renowned for their reputation in optical design and superior image quality) and Omega Optical (supplier to the Hubble telescope and other high-profile projects). The Panavision 3D System is compatible with white or silver screens – and digital or film projectors. Spectral filtering technology ‘slices’ the whole visible spectrum into ten bands of light and delivers high-quality 3D images to cinema audiences wearing reusable passive glasses. The system is currently playing digital and 3D content on cinema screens in the US, Canada, Europe, and Latin America. The Panavision 3D System provides the brightest, most efficient, most accurate colour (without additional image processing, colour correction or ghost busting) 3D image of any system using passive glasses on a white screen.
