In a projection system, optical components and lamps will change characteristics over their lifetime, creating difficulties for anyone trying to maintain an optimal colour balance in the projected image.
Cinevation’s solution to this once so onerous chore is the CCM35™. The CCM35™ enables calibration of digital projection system to closely match a common colour reference and allows fast recalibration to maintain colour matching over time.
The CCM35™ provides the capability to:
• Measure and characterise colour capability of both digital and traditional 35 mm film projection systems
• Define and set reference colours in the CGP35™
• Calibrate individual CGP35™ to reference colours
• Calibrate several CGP35™’s to the same set of reference colours (e.g. the same 35 mm film reference)

How It Works
The CCM35™ enables users to accurately measure CIE colour coordinates and luminance of known reference colours, e.g. the colour gamut of 35 mm film. If desired, reference colours can also be entered manually into the system.
The CCM35™ calculates ‘best match’ reference colours for the CGP35™ and automatically changes the colour correction parameters for the Colour Grading Projector. After the calibration is performed, verification is implemented with new measurements.
The CCM35™ consists of an industrial light meter for measuring light reflected from the screen and Cinevation-proprietary colour management software.

Benefits
When the CCM35™ is used together with the CGP35™ and the Cinevator®, it offers a unique integrated concept for getting your digital intermediate onto 35 mm film. The colours and image characteristics you will see on your print film will match the ones you see on your projection screen. - From now on there will be no need for unnecessary and time consuming re-colour-grading or re-printing; - you will get your print as you wanted it to be the first time.
An investment in the CCM35™ will simply help you save money and keep your deadline!
