CineGrade™ Film Look Preview Processor
The CineGrade™ is a tool for pre-visualising how images, e.g. your digital intermediate, will look like when it is printed out on film stock. It receives image data through DVI or SDI and resizes the image to the resolution of the projector/display. The CineGrade™ is used at its best together with Cinevation’s Colour Grading Projector, the CGP35™, that has a similar colour gamut to print film, and film is printed on the Cinevator® Digital Film Recorder/Printer.

Key Features
• The CineGrade™ can be used in a colour grading or editing suite to pre-visualise how your content will look on various print film stocks. You can create your own aims so that your look can be fully customized, - and by the touch of a button you can see how your images will look on the film stock of choice. A thorough job to characterise the various films stocks on the market have been made – and the resulting models for the Kodak, Fuji and Agfa film stocks have been implemented in the CineGrade™.

• The aim is created in the CineGrade™ software running on a PC. Either 1D or 3D aims can be created.

• When the aim has been created it is stored together with the projector calibration and the selected film stock data on the CineGrade™ processor.
How It Works
Film Look Preview Processing
The film look preview processing is generated by combining three elements; the model of the selected filmstock and the calibration data for the projector/display and the aim created by the user.
The following film stocks are supported:

• Kodak Vision Color Print Film 2383
• Kodak Vision Premier Color Print Film 2393
• Fujifilm Positive Film F-CP 3510
• Fujifilm Positive Film Eterna-CP 3513 DI
• Agfa Print CP30

Projector/Display Interface
The CineGrade™ is connected to the projector/display with a DVI cable (optional fibre optic link for long cable runs)

Signal Interfaces
The CineGrade™ interfaces all relevant HD-SDI sources, both single link and dual link. Further it accepts 2k image data played back from e.g. a disk recorder through a single or dual link DVI.

Loop-Through
For easy connection to other displays or e.g. a waveform/vector-scope the loop-through can be used.

Image Resizing
Any image resolution up to 2k (2048 x 1556) can be fed to the CineGrade™. A state-of-the-art real time scaling engine resizes the image to the native resolution of the projector/display.
Benefits
The CineGrade™ makes it very easy to create different aims (i.e. looks) and to apply that to a print film stock. By the touch of a button you can easily see what the end result will be on 35 mm film. The CineGrade™ takes into account your aim, the performance characteristics of your projector/display and the filmstock characteristics. (NOTE: The performance and colour gamut of the projector/display is of importance for the result. If the CineGrade™ is connected to the CGP35™ we can ensure that what you see on your screen is what you get on film with the Cinevator®.)
The aim created on the CineGrade™ is easily transferred to the Cinevator® Real Time Digital Film Recorder/Printer.
(NOTE: For use with other film recorders a “translation” of the aim might be needed to generate the applicable LUT)
Accessories
The following accessories are available:
• Fibre optic cable 10 m
• Fibre optic cable 20 m
• Fibre optic cable 30 m

If the distance from the CineGrade™ to the projector/display is more than 10m, a fibre optic cable is recommended.

Note! Due to constant product development, specifications and design might be subject to change without notice.
System Description
The Cinegrade™ is operated by push buttons and with status information on a LED display.
The CineGrade™ consist of the following components.
